Mom and Baby animal matching game cards offers twenty picture cards and twenty animal name cards (word cards).
Idea A: Uses as flashcards!
Idea B: A game child can play alone by matching up animal pictures to animal names which they can bring to you when finished to check to see if they are correct.
Idea C: Preschool Game object: Match a picture card to a word card. The player with the most matches wins the game. (This is game is available lower in the page in a printer friendly version.)
1. Shuffle cards.
2. Deal two cards to each player.
3. Put one card face up as the discard pile, and the rest face down as the draw pile.
4. The first player looks at the two cards in his/her hand. If the player has a picture that matches the word, then that is a set and the player puts the set on the table. The player then draws a card.
5. If the player does not have a set, the player must draw one card, and then lay a card in the discard pile.
6. The next player does the same thing.
Repeat until all the cards have been matched. The player with the most matching sets wins the game.
