Deck of Card & Matching Game Printing Tips:
Printer Friendly Link
While the playing cards can be
printed on standard computer paper, Printable Shop has these printing tips to
make your use of our playing cards more enjoyable!
Tip 1:Print on heavyweight Card Stock to make the cards
stronger. Card stock is available in office supply stores like Office Depot or
Staples, and can usually be found in discount stores like Wal-Mart and Target.
You can use any color you wish, but Printable Shop suggests that you use soft
colors like beige or light colors.
Tip 2:Print a
design on the blank side of the cards! After printing the cards but before
cutting the cards apart, re-insert the printed cardsback into the
printer’s paper tray/slot so that it will print on the blank side of the paper.
Print one of
Printable Shop’s craft paperdesigns on the blank
side. Repeat for each sheet of playing cards. Note: Each printer is different,
so you may need to experiment with a single sheet of playing cards to determine
how to put the paper back into the printer so that it will print on the blank
side.
Tip 3:If you need two decks of cards, then print one deck
with one design on the back of the cards, and the other deck with another design
on the back of the cards. This will help you to sort the decks after you finish
playing the two-deck game.
Tip 4: If you don’t have much time, then the sheet of cards
can be cut in half, and then cut in half again rather than trimming the cards
along the heavy black outline. The cards will have square edges, instead of
rounded edges. For smaller children, the bigger cards may be easier to handle.
Tip 5: We offer a
lamination tutor for those who want to make the cards more durable.
Laminating the cards also makes the cards sturdier and easier to handle.
Game Instructions:
Matching Games - Mix up the cards and lay them face down on the table in rows.
Each player takes a turn turning over two cards. If the cards match, the player
keeps the cards. If they do not match, the player turns the card back over. The
next person nows turns over two cards to see if they match. When all the matches
are made, the player with the most cards wins. Visit
